UNMEASURED is a working document created by Laura Suprenant, Irene Wei and Arnold Hong featuring an open-source set of downloadable figure drawings for architects and designers that depict real people, accompanied by interviews of their experiences with disability and the built environment. This work aims to create more visibility of disability in the built environment in an effort to dismantle disabling systems and spaces. After noticing that many architectural figure drawing resources were lacking in accurate and diverse representations of disabled people, often conforming to rigid standards and “normative” body types, we created this document to illustrate the many ways of being human, to bring visibility to those who have long been left out of the design narrative, and to measure the “unmeasured.”
